Guidelines on Both Spatial Standards From, and the Merging of Digital Terrain Data for Emergency Risk Management Planning

چکیده
This paper describes the development of a set of guidelines on the use and integration of digital terrain data for Emergency Risk Management (ERM) planning, specifically in relation to flood hazard. The guidelines were developed by a node of the Cooperative Research Centre for Spatial Information (CRC-SI) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia, in conjunction with NSW Government Agencies. The guidelines focus on the applied use of data acquired by Airborne Laser Scanner (ALS) and Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) for digital elevation modelling and flood risk assessment at catchment to regional scales. Operational procedures for data capture and ground survey are outlined. Standardised techniques for generation of digital terrain and elevation data, accuracy assessment and feature extraction are demonstrated. The integration of geospatial data for flood risk and hazard assessment is discussed. The guidelines were designed to assist Local and State Government Agencies in undertaking future GIS based flood studies. The completed guidelines are available through the CRC-SI (http://spatialinfocrc.org/). * Corresponding author. [email protected]

متن کاملAssessment Effect of the Spatial Resolution of Digital Elevation Model on Daily Discharge Estimation of Arazkuseh Watershed Using SWAT Model
The spatial quality of the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) has a great effect on the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) semi-distributed model. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of spatial accuracy of three DEMs with spatial resolutions of 10, 50 and 200 m on the results of daily discharge simulation in the Arazkuseh subwatershed located in Gorganroud watershed, Golestan pro...
متن کاملPresenting a Morphological Based Approach for Filtering The Point Cloud to Extract the Digital Terrain Model
The Digital terrain model is an important geospatial product used as the basis of many practical projects related to geospatial information. Nowadays, a dense point cloud can be generated using the LiDAR data. Actually, the acquired point cloud of the LiDAR, presents a digital surface model that contains ground and non-ground objects. The purpose of this paper is to present a new approach of ex...
